After spending few years studying in Korea, I wish I had started learning Korean as soon as I came, as it would have made both my academic and daily life much easier. Understanding the research culture, academic expectations, and communication with professors can make your life much easier. Balancing research, coursework, and personal responsibilities can be challenging, especially as an international student. Building good relationships with lab members and the international community makes a big difference. Most importantly, I have learned that success is not just about working hard in the lab, but also about maintaining a healthy balance between academic and personal life.
