When I started my research journey in Korea, I focused entirely on academic publishing and lab output. Over time, I realized that transitioning to industrial R&D after graduation requires building practical skills and an early professional network beyond the university lab. Learning industry-standard tools, understanding Korean corporate lab cultures, and networking with R&D professionals early on are essential steps. I wish I had known sooner how valuable platforms like KoLab and local industry seminars can be for bridging the gap between academia and corporate R&D.
