I wish I had learned earlier how to conduct a systematic literature review instead of reading research papers individually, so I could better understand the bigger picture of my research field. I also wish I had improved my Korean earlier to better understand lectures, academic materials, and discussions with Korean researchers. Looking back, I wish I had known more about the academic societies, conferences, networking opportunities, and cultural activities available in Korea. Studying abroad is not just about moving between home and the lab. It is also about connecting with people, exploring new opportunities, and growing both academically and personally.
