What Korea Has Taught Me

Six years ago, I came to Korea for research. I did not know that Korea would also teach me how deeply respect, culture, discipline, and human connection can shape a person. As an Indian researcher living here for more than six years, I have learned that success in Korea is not only about working hard in the laboratory. It is also about understanding people, respecting the culture, being patient, and building relationships with sincerity. What I admire most is the respect people show in everyday life; toward elders, colleagues, public spaces, work, and one another. These small everyday values slowly changed the way I look at life. If I could give one message to an international researcher arriving in Korea today, it would be this: Do not come to Korea only to build your CV. Come ready to understand the people, respect the culture, make real connections, and allow the experience to change you. For me, Korea is no longer just the country where I work. Over the years, it has become a place connected with my growth, friendships, memories, and many important chapters of my life. India will always be my home, but Korea has earned a very special place in my heart. 🇮🇳❤️🇰🇷 What is one thing Korea has taught you?
