The Institute for Battery Research Innovation at Seoul National University invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher position as follows. The Institute was established as an Innovation Research Center (IRC), supported since 2023 by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Research Foundation of Korea, to strengthen R&D capabilities, train talent, and build a "world-class research hub." The Institute develops core technologies for next-generation rechargeable batteries and conducts R&D across the field, including ultra-high-performance lithium-ion batteries, next-generation battery systems, battery recycling technologies, and research platforms for fundamental battery science. 1. Field and Number of Positions a. Computational science (computational modeling) for rechargeable batteries b. Postdoctoral researcher: 1 position 2. Eligibility a. Researchers to be appointed by the President of Seoul National University under the SNU Regulations on the Appointment of Researchers and the SNU Regulations on the Appointment of Postdoctoral Research Fellows b. Ph.D. holders (or candidates expected to receive a Ph.D. by the appointment date) (Eligible majors: all fields related to batteries and computational science, including materials science and engineering, physics, chemistry, and chemical engineering) c. No grounds for disqualification under the SNU Regulations on the Appointment of Researchers and the SNU Regulations on the Appointment of Postdoctoral Research Fellows d. Commitment to diligently carrying out the Institute's battery-related Innovation Research Center (IRC) program (※ Preferred: a strong research record in the relevant field; experience with first-principles (DFT) calculations and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations) 3. Appointment Rank a. Senior Researcher 5. Term and Conditions of Appointment a. Term: December 1, 2026 – November 30, 2027 (1 year), renewable thereafter b. Salary: approx. KRW 60 million per year c.
