Group Leader Introduction

Han Minjoon is the Head of ATI Bio Research Institute. He earned his B.S. and M.S. in Life Sciences from KAIST and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Pennsylvania State University. His research experience includes work at LG Chem, Harvard Medical School, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, AstraZeneca, NovoGlia, and CHA Biotech. His research focuses on stem cells, cell therapy, gene therapy, and automation technologies for cell and gene therapy manufacturing. He currently leads research on automated cell production systems designed to improve the manufacturing efficiency and quality of cell therapies.

Group Purpose

The group aims to provide a platform for Korean and international researchers in life science to exchange knowledge and explore the latest developments in advanced regenerative medicine, particularly stem cell-based therapies, cell therapy, and gene therapy. It also seeks to promote collaboration among researchers at different career stages and strengthen connections within the biotechnology research community in Songdo.

Description

The group will hold regular Saturday meetings from August to November 2026, generally from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by lunch. Sessions will cover introductions to cell and gene therapy, seminars with invited researchers, presentations and discussions on recent cell therapy and gene therapy research papers, and demonstrations of automated cell production systems. Participants will gain insights into emerging therapeutic modalities, preclinical and clinical development, and automation technologies for cell therapy production. The program also includes networking opportunities and cultural activities introducing Korean seasonal and holiday foods. One additional regular meeting may be arranged later.
