Wonchul Park, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Applied Bioengineering at the Graduate School of Convergence Science and Technology, Seoul National University. His research areas include nanomaterials, electrochemical energy systems, biosensors and wearable devices, AI-enabled healthcare, sustainable energy and environmental technologies, and international collaborative research. Over the past 16 years, he has published more than 200 SCI-indexed papers, led numerous national and international research projects, and mentored researchers from diverse international backgrounds. He also actively promotes international research collaboration through academic societies, joint workshops, international conferences, and multinational research initiatives.

Group Purpose

The group aims to build a sustainable, action-oriented international R&D network connecting foreign and Korean researchers in Korea. Beyond networking and information exchange, the group seeks to generate tangible collaborative outcomes such as joint research projects, international grant proposals, publications, conference presentations, and technology commercialization. It also supports participants in understanding the Korean R&D ecosystem, strengthening global collaboration skills, and developing research leadership capabilities.

Description

The group will hold six regular meetings from June to November 2026 on the last Friday of each month, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. The program covers researcher networking and vision sharing, the Korean R&D system and research funding strategies, international collaborative research planning, emerging convergence technology trends, research excellence and career development, and sustainable network building. Participants will identify potential collaborators, develop joint research ideas and proposals, explore interdisciplinary research opportunities, and strengthen skills in global networking, research leadership, technology commercialization, and career development.
