Group Leader Introduction

Juncong Ge is a Research Professor in the Division of Mechanical Design Engineering at Jeonbuk National University. His research focuses on spent battery recycling and upcycling, circular economy technologies, functional composites, and sustainable energy materials. He has approximately 16 years of research experience in Korea, holds a Ph.D. in Eco-Friendly Automotive Engineering, and has academic and industry experience including Kdac Automotive Research Center and LG Chem. His research achievements include more than 40 SCI publications and four registered patents.

Group Purpose

The group aims to build a global research collaboration network focused on integrated upcycling and material recovery technologies for spent lithium-ion batteries. Participants will share the latest research and technology trends, exchange ideas, and explore opportunities for international joint research, publications, and future R&D projects.

Description

The group meets on the third Saturday of each month from June to November, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a networking lunch. The program consists of six sessions covering program orientation and networking, global trends in battery recycling technologies, material-oriented recycling technology analysis, advanced recycling process technologies, integrated upcycling process design, and optimization of integrated upcycling technologies. Through discussions, case studies, presentations, and collaborative idea development, participants will strengthen their understanding of battery recycling technologies and expand their global research networks.
