Beyond Publications and Achievements: What Does Success Really Mean in Research?
In academia, success is often measured by publications, citations, awards, and career opportunities. But research is also about curiosity, resilience, learning from failure, and growing through challenges that are not always visible to others. Not every day brings a breakthrough, and not every effort leads to an immediate result. Sometimes, simply continuing to learn, asking better questions, and moving forward despite uncertainty is an achievement in itself. I'm curious to hear from fellow researchers: How do you personally define success? Has your perspective changed throughout your research journey? Do you measure it by what you achieve, what you learn, or the person you become along the way? Let's share our perspectives and remind one another that success in research can mean much more than what appears on a CV.
