My research journey in Korea has been shaped by a simple question: how can movement data help us better understand a person’s health and function? During my doctoral and research work, I began exploring motion-sensing technologies and later applied wearable IMUs and depth cameras to rehabilitation and gait assessment. Working with people with stroke and musculoskeletal conditions has taught me that useful AI must do more than produce a prediction—it must provide information that clinicians can understand and trust. I now hope to extend this work toward home-based monitoring, where digital biomarkers could help reveal functional changes between clinic visits.
