What I Wish I Knew Before Studying in Korea 🇰🇷 Before coming to Korea, I was excited to experience a new culture, meet new people, and study at a Korean university. However, I soon realized that studying abroad comes with many challenges. As an international architecture student, one of my biggest challenges has been understanding lectures in Korean and explaining my design ideas during presentations. Architecture requires a lot of creativity, time, and communication. Sometimes, even when I have a good idea, expressing it clearly in Korean can be difficult. I also learned that managing time is very important. Working on models, preparing drawings, completing assignments, and studying for exams can be stressful, especially when everything is in a foreign language. One thing I wish I had known earlier is that making mistakes is a normal part of learning. You don’t need to understand everything immediately, and you shouldn’t be afraid to ask professors or classmates for help. My advice to new international students is to be patient, manage your time wisely, make friends, and keep improving your Korean language skills. Studying in Korea is not always easy, but every challenge teaches me something new and helps me become more independent and confident. Don’t compare your journey with others. Everyone grows at their own pace! 🌱
